Update:
- It has been tested that Tik Tok cannot be used in card-in status. Multiple nodes at various airports have been tested, and none are usable, basically confirming the same situation as in mainland China.
- It has been tested that this card cannot purchase apps in the App Store; the payment mode indicates insufficient balance (even though the balance in My3APP is sufficient). Currently, it seems that the Hong Kong App Store can only accept payments through AlipayHK and gift cards without a Hong Kong card.
This is a physical SIM card that can roam in mainland China and provides a native Hong Kong IP, while also offering eSIM services. Friends with phones that support eSIM functionality can activate it themselves through the 3HK official website. Friends using mainland China phones can also activate it by purchasing a physical card through Taobao, just like I did, and this SIM card can freely switch between physical card and eSIM forms. (The fee for converting a physical card to eSIM is 28HKD, while the reverse is 48HKD and can only be mailed locally in Hong Kong.)

Taobao purchasing provides a 3HK prepaid card containing 50HKD. After receiving it, you need to recharge enough balance to purchase the corresponding roaming package in the My3 APP. Once successful, it can be used normally. A recharge amount of over 200HKD can extend the validity period by one year, starting from the date of recharge. (The My3 APP recharge methods support credit cards, AlipayHK, Alipay, and UnionPay.)
The 3HK DIY Greater Bay Area package is as follows:
I ordered through Taobao on Friday, June 9, and it showed on Taobao that it was sent via SF Express on Monday, June 12. I received it on Wednesday morning, June 14. I activated it using a mainland China iPhone, and after downloading the My3 APP with a Hong Kong ID, I could directly scan the code to activate it. The overall process is quite simple. (If there is no service for a long time, you can restart the phone.)
This card does not require real-name registration for roaming in mainland China.
I don't know why I can't directly jump to Alipay when I use it; I can only pay in the browser.
The current exchange rate is really touching. I remember when I used CMHK's Wan Zhong card in 2020, the Hong Kong dollar exchange rate was about 0.82.
It is recommended to use 3G in mainland China. Of course, rich brothers and sisters can use it freely. After the data of this card is used up, you can repurchase the 268HKD package to get more data. The actual test shows that Facebook can be accessed while roaming in mainland China.
The actual test shows that using a ladder with HK nodes in card-in status can access Tik Tok (not confirmed if it can be accessed later).
The actual test shows that Tik Tok cannot be used in data mode.
The actual test shows that this card can be added to the mobile billing payment mode in the Hong Kong App Store (it has only been added; it has not been tested whether it is usable).
In summary, the advantages of 268HKD for one year with 45GB of data + mobile billing in the Hong Kong App Store + no real-name requirement for use in mainland China make this card one of the most worthwhile Hong Kong SIM cards to hold long-term, while for pure number retention, I would recommend the clubsim prepaid card, which can be purchased for 50HKD and extended through a 6HKD SMS package.
If you are a rich brother or sister, then it is even more recommended to go on stage directly.
